Throughout the past five years, DER has been working on the Sherburn House Estate transforming heritage buildings into a fantastic place for residents to spend their later life.

The first scheme to complete was Beddell House, a 55-bed residential home, which underwent a major renovation programme and now boasts a high-end, hotel style décor and a non-institutional design that removes the stigma associated with care homes.

Now, Esh has completed the £1.7m refurbishment of Thornley House and Shincliffe House. Previously rendered unlettable, the buildings have been renovated to provide high-quality sheltered housing, and include an impressive five-bedroom house.
