Tips of door and window profile width and wall thickness

When you are choosing Aluminum doors and windows, you may often hear the salesperson say that their doors and windows are of 60, 70, 80 series, and so on. The numbers of 60, 70 and 80 mentioned here are generally referring to the cross-sectional width of the window frame. This width determines the corresponding wall thickness, glass thickness, insulation strip size, cavity structure and other factors of the profile system designed by the manufacturer. Namely, thick, means more contents.

Thickness of the window frame is important, but it does mean the thicker the better. The thickness can only indicate that many factors can be fully designed, and it also implies that the cost is correspondingly higher. Sometimes the windows made of wider and thicker profiles look a little bit clumsy, and less aesthetically pleasing in terms of appearance.

Though of course too thin is absolutely not good, There are relevant standards for profile wall thickness. For example, Shanghai has high requirements on aluminum profile thickness, which requires the aluminum profile thickness to be greater than 1.8mm. In my opinion, the wall thickness of an excellent door and window should be at least 1.6mm. Only in this way can we ensure the overall strength of the doors and windows.

In some existing cases, some manufacturers increase the wall thickness or cross-sectional width of profiles, not to make doors and windows with higher performance, but to simply follow the market trend. They think: I must produce something that my competitors already have. In these cases, product price increases a lot, but the performance does not increase much.This is actually selling materials to customers in disguise. Customers don't need materials.
